Eligibility requirements for US visa

 


To be eligible for a US visa, an applicant must meet several requirements. According to the U.S. Department of State's website, a foreign national seeking to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S visa. The traveller’s passport is used to hold the visa.

The Visa Wizard provided by the U.S. Department of State helps to determine one's eligibility for a visa, although it does not guarantee eligibility.

It is also important to note that in many cases, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) must approve an applicant's petition before they can apply for a visa or seek admission at a port of entry.

Required documents for a US visa include an online non-immigrant DS-160 application form and a valid passport, which must be valid for at least six months beyond the planned stay in the United States.

Additionally, there are several types of visas available, such as the O-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities in science, art, education, business, athletics, television industry, and motion picture.
